Professional Mobile Disco & Karaoke
about us
Martin Kay started Djing in the late 70s because of his love of music. He was taught by three of the finest DJ’s in Sussex. After having a successful nightclub career, decided in the mid eighties to join the mobile circuit and has not looked back since.
Martin has D-jay for various celebrities, and has worked with many Radio 1 DJ’s. You name a function, and we have done it, from christenings to teenage parties, from 21st birthdays to weddings/civil partnerships to wakes. In anything from Castles to the grandest hotels, to marquees, to schools and village halls, we’ve done them all. We have catered for between 10 to 2000 people. And we have the music for any age group.
We take the trouble to find out what your music taste is and welcome any list you might have. We also ask if there is any music you don’t wish us to play and to make a list of that as well if you want to.
Equally we are quite happy for you to let us use our vast knowledge of functions to play what we think is right. The choice is yours. Our music taste is vast, we don’t mind what we play, as long as you the customer is happy. We use only quality sound and lighting equipment such as Pioneer, Bose & Martin.
Our Karaoke has taken us to doing a regular spots for two years at Twickenham, (the home of English rugby) after International matches. We had approximately two thousand people attend. Can you imagine what that was like?
We feel that the presentation is also very important. And having been Disc Jockeying in the era when using a microphone properly was essential, that part of our Discos, we think is spot on without overkill (we know no one wants to hear our voice all night).
We have a new addition to Martin Kay Discos. I am proud to announce ‘Dan Select’. Dan has been under my wing for some five years or more. Dan is currently half way through a three year BA Digital Music Degree at Southampton Solent University. This consists of producing and promoting his own music, as well as all the aspects of Disc Jockeying. (I wish I could have done that when I started)
